Hey Lordlover, I've been learning French for four and a half years now, so I'm sure I can help you. I'm already helping one of my class mates with it, so it'll be no problem. If you just tell me what you're doing, I can help you, if you like. So, if you're interested, just send me a private message or something like that, I'd love to help you.
Ines.

Oh my! Lets see. Bonjour. Je suis grande, et brune. Je suis intelligente, et je ne pas sportive.
Je ne pas etudier, mais je aime parler en francais.

Detect the message above and grade my spelling. Hahahaha. have fun,

Post 10 by Happy Little Faith (One day closer to eternity! Wahoooooooo!) on Monday, 18-Apr-2005 20:29:57

Ok, how do you do the accents? I have tried, and tried, but it doesn't work! How do you do it with Jaws?

Post 11 by chelslicious (like it or not, I'm gonna say what I mean. all the time.) on Monday, 18-Apr-2005 21:48:51

lol, it sounds funny when jaws reads it.

Post 12 by Inesle1987 (Account disabled) on Tuesday, 19-Apr-2005 2:04:47

Um, you say "je ne suis sportive" and between the "ne" and the "pas" must be the verb. And you write "bbonjours". But hey, people could understand what you wanted to say.
By the way: "Je aime" is "J'aime". That's because the "e" and the "a" begin both with a vowl.
Ines.

Post 13 by Happy Little Faith (One day closer to eternity! Wahoooooooo!) on Tuesday, 19-Apr-2005 20:34:40

whoops! hahaha. I forgot about the vowel. LOL. But my French teacher told me that hello was "bonjour", instead of "b b o n j o u r s"
strange. Is this true? Madame Lawrence lived most of her life there, and is still fluent in the language.

Post 28 by Happy Little Faith (One day closer to eternity! Wahoooooooo!) on Thursday, 05-May-2005 20:16:10

Anyone still interested in this topic?

Post 29 by bermuda-triangulese (Help me, I'm stuck to my chair!) on Friday, 06-May-2005 4:32:18

aller, ok, here we go. Je vais, tu vas, il/elle/on va, nous allons, vous allez and ils/elles vont. The first three are ok, vais vas and va, they are very similar. allons and allez are simple conjugations because they are the same as any e.r verb. vont you'll just have to remember.

Post 30 by Happy Little Faith (One day closer to eternity! Wahoooooooo!) on Thursday, 12-May-2005 19:08:58

Bonjour. Je ne etudier pas. hehehehehehehe. Mais j'aime voyager et travailler.

Post 36 by Inesle1987 (Account disabled) on Monday, 06-Jun-2005 8:16:42

That was perfect, except you don't say "je ne étudier", you leave the R at the end out, because "étudier" is the infinitive.

Post 37 by Happy Little Faith (One day closer to eternity! Wahoooooooo!) on Monday, 06-Jun-2005 23:01:34

I have been wondering this for a long time, and I hope noone gets afended, but how do you say I love You Jesus in French?

Post 40 by Happy Little Faith (One day closer to eternity! Wahoooooooo!) on Sunday, 26-Jun-2005 11:00:18

I would love to say more in French instead of just saying, I live here, I am this old, I am this, I am that, he is this she is that, you are going here, we are going there, etc. I want to learn some new vocab over the summer. If anyone feels like it, would you mind teaching me some? Thanks,
Lordlover

Post 41 by bermuda-triangulese (Help me, I'm stuck to my chair!) on Monday, 27-Jun-2005 8:39:00

I'm not translating that other phrase because just about half way through I start to gag uncontrolably, but I'd be happy to teach you some, real, french, over the summer, here's astarting point.
Je pige quedale de ce texte! I don't understand a fucking word of this text. Ma chambre c'est un bourdelle. My room is a big ass mess. and, finally, t'agoeules, meaning, shut the hell up!

Post 42 by alison (my ISP would be out of business if it wasn't for this haven I live at) on Wednesday, 29-Jun-2005 17:35:15

um, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't "bonjour. je ne étudie pas. Mais j'aime voyager et travailler. mean "hello. I do not study. But I like to travel and work"? LOL.

Post 43 by Happy Little Faith (One day closer to eternity! Wahoooooooo!) on Friday, 01-Jul-2005 13:45:37

It sure does Alison. LOL. Good translating! *smiley*

And, fabolous, I do not want to learn profane words thanks.

Post 45 by Happy Little Faith (One day closer to eternity! Wahoooooooo!) on Monday, 11-Jul-2005 22:26:30

Be my guest, I don't care,

Post 46 by Happy Little Faith (One day closer to eternity! Wahoooooooo!) on Friday, 15-Jul-2005 23:15:07

But it is rude you know. I asked for no "profain language", and what do you do? That is not a funny joke. I have the right to get angry right now.

Post 47 by bermuda-triangulese (Help me, I'm stuck to my chair!) on Saturday, 16-Jul-2005 7:36:59

go ahead, ça me fait rien

Post 48 by tara (the Zone BBS remains forever my home page) on Monday, 24-Oct-2005 20:34:08

How about this then for a construction I hope it's right! Si intelegente que je sois, je ne suis pas courante en français! That means: no matter how clever I am, I'm not fluent in French. Or: J'aurai dû étudier plus de grammaire de l'espagnol, afin que les deux langues que j'étudie soient au mêm niveau! That means: I should've studied more Spanish grammar, so that the 2 languages that I study are at the same level. My apologies for any grammar mistakes! Send me a private message or quick note if anyone wants any advice about French, I'm not fluent, but I'll try my best.
